SATURDAY 11/5 COLDER WEATHER Windy weather Friday will bring rain during the night into the morning, then colder temperatures. Saturday’s expected high in the Valley is 65 degrees. PEARCE RECALL ELECTION With just a few days left until the November 8 recall election, groups will be walking Legislative District 18 to get out the vote for either State Senator Russell Pearce or his challenger Jerry Lewis. The pro-Pearce group, to include Sheriff Joe Arpaio and members of the State Senate and State House of Representatives, will start at the Mesa High School parking lot at 9am. The pro-Lewis Promise Action in Arizona will have three groups out at different times throughout the day. OCCUPY PHOENIX BANK TRANSFER DAY Occupy Phoenix will march through downtown for what they are calling “Bank Transfer Day.” The “Move Your Money March,” with stops at Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and Chase Tower, will encourage consumers to switch their accounts from big banks to credit unions or community banks. 1pm, Downtown Phoenix. UNITY RIDE FOR VETERANS Maricopa County will honor military veterans with a unity motorcycle ride. The event will feature live music, dance performances, and a cruise across the northern and western edges of the Valley. 9am, American Legion Post, 2nd Avenue & Grant, Phoenix. ASU AT UCLA The Arizona State University Sun Devils travel to Pasadena to take on the UCLA Bruins. ASU comes in with a 4-1 record, UCLA at 3-2. 4:30pm, Rose Bowl, Pasadena, CA. SUNDAY 11/6 TURKEYS FOR TROOPS St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance will distribute food boxes to families of Arizona’s wounded, deployed, and active soldiers as part of the “Turkeys For Troops” program. 12pm-4pm, 52nd Street Armory, Phoenix. ILL BOY FIREHOUSE TOUR Alexis Maldonado, an 11-year-old Tempe boy who suffers from a rare disease called Fanconi anemia, has always wanted to be a firefighter. Sunday he will get a special all-access fire house tour. Maldonado will get to ride in a fire truck and squirt fire hoses, and he will be presented with a child-size set of firefighter clothing. 10am, Fire Training Center, Tempe. CARDINALS VS RAMS The Arizona Cardinals host the St. Louis Rams. Both teams are struggling this season. 2:15pm, University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale. DAYLIGHT TIME ENDS Everywhere that observes Daylight Time will roll back their clocks an hour on Sunday at 2am.
