WBAY-TV Green Bay-Fox Cities-Northeast Wisconsin NewsHow Aaron Rodgers Responded to Brett Favre’s Comments

Here's a no-brainer: Aaron Rodgers is the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his six-touchdown performance against the Denver Broncos. This is his second player of the week award this season and his fourth in the last nine regular-season weeks. No one disputes Rodgers is among the very best at his position — not even future Hall of Famer Brett Favre. But in a radio interview in Atlanta on Tuesday, Favre offered his praise of Rodgers but said he was kind of surprised it took him so long to win, referring to the Super Bowl. When asked by reporters on Wednesday, Rodgers wouldn't bite on that apple. “The only thing I want to say is, I'm really proud of our guys and what our team did last season. It was a great accomplishment. It took all 53 of those guys. Obviously, it got the attention of a lot of people. We're proud of the fact we achieved the ultimate goal as a team,” Rodgers said. A reporter asked if he was surprised it took him three years. “Great follow-up,” Rodgers replied, laughing. Did he find Favre's remarks disrespectful? “Again,” Rodgers said, dodging like he was in the pocket, “I'm just going to say that I was really proud of our team.”
