NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A video parody by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Newark Mayor Cory Booker was getting thousands of Internet hits on Wednesday — and it is raising even more questions about what the two politicians are up to.They say that politics makes strange bedfellows, but the strange turn by Republican Christie and Democrat Booker has many asking: what’s up with that?1010 WINS’ Steve Sandberg On The StoryDone for the New Jersey Press Association Legislative Correspondents dinner, the parody attempts to recreate the infamous Seinfeld-Newman rivalry, CBS 2’s Marcia Kramer reported. Booker one-ups Christie at every turn, for example, supplying a backup when Bruce Springsteen loses a guitar and turning up when Christie blows a tire on the highway. At each turn there is a similar exchange:Christie: “Any problems you want me to handle? Like a fire anywhere? People trapped?”State Trooper: “No.”Christie: “Like a bad automobile accident where I can help some folks?”Trooper: “Uh uh nothing like that.”Christie: Maybe a cat up a tree?”Trooper: “No, I think we’re all set here.”Booker: “Trooper, what have you got?”Trooper: “Mayor, thank you for coming. There’s a two-alarm fire down on State Street. We do have a car broken down on Route 1.”Booker: “Hey gov, gov, sit tight. I got this.”Christie: “Booker!”But it is the collaboration of these two seemingly political polar opposites that has tongues wagging. Does Booker want Christie’s support for a possible Senate run? Does Democrat Booker want Republican Christie’s blessing to run for governor one day?The outspoken governor wasn’t saying anything on Wednesday, other than he had a lot of fun making the video. There was one scene, however, where Christie gets the last word:Booker: “Gov. Romney, yes, yes, that was me running into the fire. Yes, you’re very persuasive but I’m not a number 2 guy.”Christie: “Excuse me mayor, I got this.”Booker: “Christie!”Naturally, the video reopened questions about Christie being on the 2012 ticket, but in a new Quinnipiac poll Garden State voters say Christie would be unhappy playing second fiddle.Voters also told pollsters they like Christie much better than Romney or Vice President Joe Biden, for that matter.Did you like the video?
