JUPITER —There are a good many entertainers who have made recordings of the Clement Clarke Moore classic poem, Twas the Night Before Christmas. However, WJTW FM might have just gotten the best yet with Brendan Grace performance in our studio. Grace, one of Ireland’s top entertainers who happens to live in Jupiter, when he’s not traveling the world performing. If you’re not familiar with the singer/comedian, here’s a bit about him.Last month, Grace was honored on The Late, Late Show on Irish television for his 40 years in the field of entertainment. The audience was packed with Ireland’s top entertainers. Newspapers from Dublin to Cork included such accolades as “the greatest family entertainer of our generation’, Westmeath Examiner; ‘ Brendan Grace, one of the greatest entertainers and comedy actors of the last 40 years received a well deserved tribute on the Late Late TV Show last Friday’ from The Farmer’s Journal; Offaly Express, ‘Brendan Grace has been an institution on the Irish showbiz scene for many years. Michael Commins was among the audience at The Late Late Show where Brendan’s 40th year as one of our foremost entertainers was celebrated.’ The Late Late Show aired televised greetings from Michael Flatley (Lord of the Dance) and Jupiter’s own Burt Reynolds. Is it any wonder that we are so pleased to have this grand talent honor WJTW with a performance? Mr. Como had been a member of Tequesta Country Club since the 1960s, and played golf there along with Toney Penna. It’s such a great part of Tequesta’s early history.”The Perry Como Special will air on Dec. 22 and 23 from 3- to 5 p.m., followed by 48 hours of Christmas favorites sponsored by local businesses including Anna Flowers of Jupiter, Grand Slam Sport Fishing and Marina, The Travel Gallery, Corner’s Restaurant, Lighthouse ArtCenter, Casual Living and Poolside, and Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home of Jupiter.Through the past couple of weeks, Greene has been going around town with her mike getting holiday greetings from residents, merchants and community leaders, which will also air throughout the 48 hours of Christmas music.
