THIS WEEKEND’S STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL: THE BASIC FACTS

The 40th annual Monroe Congregational Church Strawberry Festival will take place this weekend on the Monroe Green, on Route 111 near the Congregational Church and Town Hall.

Described by organizers as “an old-fashioned church festival,” below are some quick details on the festival:

Saturday, June 18, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday, June 19, noon to 5 p.m.

Free parking and free admission

Available will be strawberry shortcake, whole berry pies, chocolate dipped strawberries, smoothies, strawberry jams and jellies, hamburgers, hot dogs, beverages

A craft and fine arts show with more than 100 crafters and artists, selling items such as paintings, clothing, jewelry, flowers, furniture, toys, glass, pottery, wood and metal creations

Children activities, live music, and Strawberry souvenir items will be sold

New this year will be a dunking booth both days, featuring Monroe “celebrities”
