There is no comedy in degrading women

A funny thing happened during the public flogging of and demands to remove Rush Limbaugh from the airwaves forever. The conservative right, bearing the constant brunt of progressive slurs and the butt of every hypocritical progressive snicker, held the misogynist mirror up to progressive commentators and political satirists. The feminist left/progressive orchestrators of the war on women often use the likes of Bill Maher, Chris Matthews, Ed Schultz, Keith Olbermann and Matt Taibbi to get their message out to their audience. Problem is that they regularly use derogatory four-letter words to describe and denigrate primarily conservative women – and even liberal women – with whom they disagree. Some of the demeaning sexist language these gentlemen of the left regularly use makes the terminology and analogy Limbaugh made seem polite by comparison.Yet there is no move to boycott or get them kicked off the airwaves. There is no screaming, gnashing of teeth or effort to destroy them from the right. Why? Because the answer to bad speech is more speech, never censorship.People are starting to understand the hypocrisy and vitriol of the progressive left. The Sandra Fluke scandal is falling apart and creating a backlash against the president. If Limbaugh is the de facto face of the right, then the de facto face of the left is hateful Maher. He thinks he’s funny regularly referring to women in derogatory terms. If you think there is comedy in degrading women, you’re a misogynist too.Terese ChurchillHana
