Thursday, July 21, 2011 – Blake Shelton had the top selling CD in the country on the Billboard charts for the week ending July 30 with “Red River Blue,” while Jason Aldean continued his great year by jumping to the top of the Billboard Country Songs chart with Dirt Road Anthem, displacing Justin Moore and If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away, which fell to fifth. Shelton assumed the top spot on the country chart from Aldean whose “My Kinda Party” slipped to third. Sandwiched in between was Chris Young, whose “Neon” debuted in second. Moore was fourth with “Outlaws Like Me.” Brad Paisley was fifth with “This is Country Music.” Ashton Shepherd debuted in 11th with “Where Country Brows,” her second disc. Kasey Chambers entered the chart in 32nd with “Little Bird.” On the song chart, Chris Young moved from four to two with Tomorrow. Shelton dropped one to third with Honey Bee. Zac Brown Band featuring Jimmy Buffett inched up one to fourth with Knee Deep. Brad Paisley entered the top 10 – at 9 – with Remind Me, his duet with Carrie Underwood, which was up 3. Kenny Chesney’s You And Tequila was at 10, up 1. The song features Grace Potter. George Strait moved from 18 to 14 with Here For a Good Time. Ronnie Dunn was at 26, up 3, with Cost of Livin’. A total of 14 songs between 11 and 30 on the charts, moved up 2 spots. On the bluegrass chart, the top five remained the same. Alison Krauss & Union Station stayed at the top with “Paper Airplane,” Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers were second with “Rare Bird Alert, Sarah Jarosz third with “Follow Me Down,” Dierks Bentley fourth with “Up on the Ridge” and Trampled by Turtles fifth with “Palomino.” On the overall top 200, Shelton took over for Beyonce, whose “4″ disc dropped to fifth. Young was 4th, Aldean 7th, Moore was 15th and Paisley 16th.
