Shamrock Week coming in March The Wakefield Event Planning Committee never stops planning events for the community.  Last August, there was the two-day Festival Italia, which brought more than 3,000 people into the community; and course, in December, the family-oriented Holiday Stroll which continues to grow in numbers every year. Well, now the EPC is busy finalizing plans for the next event, the Shamrock Gala. The purpose is to bring the community, visitors and the merchants together to create economic growth.Shamrock Gala March 18 — A fun-packed afternoon to kick off “Spring into Shopping” week.  The Shamrock Gala will take place on Sunday, March 18 at the Sheraton Colonial North, from 2-6 p.m.  The lineup includes a Fashion Show, Merchant Row, Man Cave, entertainment, appetizers, cash bar, raffles and a dessert bar. Tickets are $25 and are available at Alamo, Florence’s Fashions, Berkachi’s Bridal, J’Adore, Rada’s Boutique and Smith Drug.  Don’t wait too long, last year was a sellout! Tickets now on sale.Spring into Shopping March 19-31 — Join in this week-long event. Drop into any of the merchants displaying a shamrock in their window, make a purchase and be entered into a fabulous drawing of a $200 spending spree at a participating store.  The winner will be announced on April 1.
