Rita Hayworth’s grandson, Andrew Embiricos, found dead at 25

Andrew Embiricos, the grandson of Hollywood legend Rita Hayworth, was found dead in his apartment in New York City on December 4. Police tell the Associated Press the 25-year-old was discovered in his Manhattan apartment with a bag over his head and was pronounced dead at the scene. It is suspected he committed suicide. No crime is suspected. The cause of his death is pending autopsy results. Embiricos was the son of Hayworth’s daughter Yasmin Aga Khan, a philanthropist known for publicizing the plight of those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. “Of course Princess Yasmin Aga Khan and her former husband are deeply saddened by the death of their son Andrew Embiricos in New York on Sunday night,” a spokesperson for Khan’s foundation told People magazine. “They would really appreciate if their privacy would be respected in the very difficult moment.” Hayworth, born Margarita Carmen Cansino, was known for roles in films like “Cover Girl” and “Gilda.” She died in 1987 of Alzheimer’s disease at age 68.
