Report: Celtics Send ‘Big Baby’ To Orlando For Brandon Bass

BOSTON (CBS) – The Boston Celtics are sending Glen “Big Baby” Davis to the Orlando Magic, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports.The Celtics would land forward Brandon Bass in the sign-and-trade deal, which is still pending league approval.Known as an undersized power forward, Bass averaged a career high 11.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game for the Magic last season. Davis helped Boston to their 17th NBA Championship, and earned the reputation as a big-time playoff player when he averaged 15.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in the playoffs the following year. He has two-year stints in each New Orleans, Dallas and Orlando. Bass has played in 28 playoff games, including six starts, averaging 7.7 points but just 3.9 rebounds.Bass has one year remaining on his current contract for $4 million, with a player option for $4 million in 2012-13.
