Westerly was the spot for several events on Sunday. At left, Rebecca Renna leads the “March of the Wooden Soldiers” in Wilcox Park during the Westerly Band’s annual children’s concert. There also was a Teddy bear picnic. Below, The Westerly Elks held a Flag Day Ceremony at The Westerly Elks Lodge. (Photo by Christine Corrigan) Also on Sunday, the Westerly Fire Department held its 113th memorial parade and service in honor of departed members. Local firefighters marched from the fire station on Union Street through downtown Westerly.  Following the parade, a memorial service was held at The Fireman’s Memorial Monument on Union Street next to the fire station.
