Powerball jackpot rises to $160 million. After no one hit all the numbers drawn Saturday night – 20, 40, 41, 47 and 55, with a Powerball of 19 – the multistate lottery’s jackpot jumped to its fourth biggest top prize of the year. Four tickets won $200,000 for matching the first five numbers but not the Powerball. They were sold in Massachusetts, North Carolina, Kentucky and Arkansas. No ticket won $1 million for having the first five plus the Power Play multiplier option. The next drawing is Wednesday. More info: powerball.com.
Jersey ticket wins big as Mega Millions rises. Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot will be worth $85 million, because no one matched all the numbers drawn Friday night – 8, 10, 22, 47 and 48, with a Mega Ball of 35. New Jersey, California, Georgia and Texas each sold a $250,000 winner that matched the first five but not the Mega Ball. The Jersey ticket was purchased at the Corner Store in Lincoln Park, Morris County. More info: megamillions.com.
Mega Millions and Powerball are sold in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and about three dozen other states.
