advertisement The parents of a 17-year old Krop High Student who was killed in Sanford, FL, earlier this year, will be discussing the shooting death of their son Sunday night at a Miami Gardens church. Sabrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, mother and father of Trayvon Martin have repeatedly asked for justice in the incident that claimed the life of their son and will be discussing the circumstances of his death at 7:15 p.m. at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 21311 NW 34th Avenue – the same church where Martin’s funeral was held. Martin was in the central Florida town in February when he was gunned down by George Zimmerman, a Neighborhood Watch representative for The Retreat at Twin Lakes. Zimmerman had called police and reported Martin as a suspicious person in the neighborhood, before following Martin from his car, police say. Several callers told police that they saw a fight and heard a gunshot. Zimmerman, with the gun, was bleeding from his nose and head when authorities arrived, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Martin had a bag of Skittles and iced tea with him. Police said Zimmerman told them that he shot Martin in self-defense. Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee Jr. said that evidence and testimony may corroborate Zimmerman’s story, because he had a bloody nose and had grass clippings on the back of his shirt, like he had been in a defensive posture. But the family and friends of Martin dispute the self-defense claim. A records search revealed an arrest record for Zimmerman, including an arrest in 2005 for resisting arrest with violence and battery on a law enforcement offcer.
