Newton native and District 8 Boston City Councilor Mike Ross says he’s considering a run for the Fourth Congressional seat. Ross, who was born and raised in Newton, told the TAB that he is looking at a run for the seat currently held by Barney Frank. Frank announced his decision not to seek re-election Monday.Ross currently lives in Boston’s Mission Hill, which is not in the district, and would have to potentially move back to Newton if he runs.I’m from Newton and I have a strong connection to Newton. It’s something I’m looking at. I’ve been working in the capacity doing things I really enjoy here in the city of Boston for the people I serve with great pride. This was unexpected and I think it deserves a careful look by myself and many others.Ross said Frank’s sudden announcement that he is retiring Monday was unexpected and he has to digest it, before making a decision. There’s a lot to think about. It’s something I need to think through. His father Stephan Ross still lives in the Garden City and is a Holocaust survivor and founder of the New England Holocaust Memorial in Boston.
