Jun 05, 2012 (ACCESSWIRE-TNW via COMTEX) –TORONTO, Ontario, June 5, 2012 – Hockey Hall of Fame and Network Entertainment Inc. (a subsidiary of Network Media Group Inc, TSX-V: NME) announced today their partnership to produce an original 3D film, entitled Stanley Cup Odyssey, for theatrical exhibition at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Canada beginning in November 2012. The film will showcase original live action filming, photo-realistic computer generated animation, and classic archival footage of some of the most renowned moments in Stanley Cup history. The story features a group of young men who play their regular pick-up game at the local arena with amazing skill and grace while they share their own personal favourite Stanley Cup moments. As the players banter, reminisce and attempt to emulate their hockey heroes, the on-ice action will cut at respective segments to three of the greatest Stanley Cup goals (a la Gretzky, Lemieux and Orr) shown in their original archival video and transformed seamlessly into 3D hyper-real animation presenting each play in a dynamic 3D perspective. “We are proud to be working with the Hockey Hall of Fame to create this groundbreaking 3D production and our entire team is excited to be producing a film that fans will enjoy and celebrate for years to come,” said Derik Murray, Executive Producer and Network’s founder and CEO. “Working with the Hockey Hall of Fame in the past has led to many successful ventures, including the Gemini Award winning Legends of Hockey series, and we look forward to the world premiere of Stanley Cup Odyssey as part of the 2012 Induction Weekend festivities in November.” “The Hockey Hall of Fame is committed to telling the story of our great game and we are thrilled to be a part of this new theatrical production that promises to add an exciting dimension to our guest experience,” said Jeff Denomme, Hockey Hall of Fame President and Chief Operating Officer. “The audience will relive magical moments in hockey history and experience the brilliance of the Stanley Cup as never seen before in larger than life 3D.” The film will also be available as a collectors DVD in both 3D and 2D formats.
