MIAMI CANNIBAL ATTACK: MAN EATING FACE RUDY EUGENE SHOT IN MIAMI, POLICE BELIEVE HE MAY HAVE TAKEN ‘BATH SALTS’, RONALD POPPO IDENTIFIED AS VICTIM

A naked homeless man identified as Rudy Eugene, 31, was shot dead by police in Miami , Florida on Saturday following the gruesome attack where he ate the face of another homeless man identified as Ronald Poppo, 65, who is now in critical condition. Police believe the violent attack could have been caused by cocaine psychosis or an overdose of “bath salts” a new kind of LSD. With the incident making international news headline, some even say that this is just the start of the zombie apocalypse thing. The Miami Herald reported, that the incident happened at about 2 p.m. local time near Miami’s busy Biscayne Boulevard. Witness Larry Vega who was cycling on MacArthur Causeway’s pedestrian walkway told WSVN-Fox 7 that hew saw a naked man was chewing off the face of another naked man and that it was one of the most gruesome and traumatic things he had ever seen in his life.“The guy was like tearing him to pieces with his mouth, so I told him, ‘Get off!’” he said. “You know, it’s like the guy just kept eating the other guy away, like ripping his skin.”When Vega found a police officer who repeatedly told the attacker, identified as Rudy Eugene, to get off the man, “the guy just stood his head up like that with a piece of flesh in his mouth and growled,” Vega said. The officer fired but the man continued to eat the victim’s face. The officer fired again several times that eventually killed the attacker. The victim, Ronald Poppo was in critical condition in in Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Reports said, 75 percent of his face was chewed off which hospital staff described “as the worst injuries they have ever seen.”Officers still are not sure what caused the attack. They theorized that a highly potent drug called “bath salts” is to blame for the attack. Bath salts, referred to on the street as the “new LSD,” produces nasty results such as hallucinations, suicidal thoughts and death. Miami Herald described its effect as baking the body internally which often leads those it affects to strip naked to try to cool off.“We noticed an increase in “bath salts” incidents probably after Ultra Fest,” told Jackson Memorial Hospital emergency room Dr. Paul Adams to CBSNews. He also told CBS that some have used their jaws as a weapon during attacks and were in a state of delirium.Related posts:
