Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar encourage moms in the Heart of Illinois

March 16, 2012 Updated Mar 19, 2012 at 9:58 AM CDT NORMAL, Ill — ISU students are on spring break, which is the perfect time for moms to take over the campus during the Hearts at Home conference. Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar are known around the world from TLC’s hit reality show 19 Kids and Counting. The show revolves around their busy lives and the challenges they face raising 19 kids. Friday, they were in Normal sharing their story with moms from across the Midwest at the 19th annual Hearts at Home Conference. “My heart desire is to just pass on that encouragement to other mamas that are at the places of life where I have been and still am,” says Michelle Duggar. This year’s conference has over 6,300 women listening to speakers and attending workshops on topics like marriage, practical parenting, and spiritual growth. Michelle Duggar says it’s all in an effort to inspire them to live in the moment. “We think we’re so busy and time goes by so slowly, but in reality before you know it they are going to grown and so I always say enjoy them while you have them, love on those babies because before you know it they’re going to be driving.” Jennifer Mclaughlin with Hearts at Home says this conference is all about encouraging mothers and letting them know they are not alone. “Whether they have 1 child or 19, whether they stay or they work we’re all moms and we all have the same struggles, we all have the same fears and we just want them to know that they are normal, they are not alone ” One thing is for sure: The Duggars’ fans across the world will be watching to see if they make it an even 20. The Duggars say they aren’t ruling it out, “I’m not sure if we’ll have any more or not, we’d love to, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see, we’d love more…might have a little Jim Bob.”
