Conspiracy theorists can finally rest as Jeremy Maclin is healthy and ready to dominate for the Philadelphia Eagles and fantasy owners across the world. We can skyrocket Maclin back up our draft boards after submerging him beneath the likes of Brandon Lloyd, Stevie Johnson, Marques Colston and Dez Bryant. “Jeremy Maclin’s ‘mysterious illness’ will be more clearly defined Tuesday… Considering his offseason bout with mononucleosis, during which Maclin reportedly lost at least 15 pounds… There has been speculation… in Philadelphia that Maclin’s career — and his long-term health — may be in jeopardy. No so, said [Jeremy's brother] Andre Maclin: ‘They kind of have us on a gag order until tomorrow. … But he’s fine, he’s fine. That much I can say.’ Asked if he expects Maclin to play for the Eagles this season, the brother said, ‘I’m confident about that as well,’” according to Sporting News’ Steve Greenberg. Entering his third-year in the league, Maclin will put his illness behind him to enjoy a career season. Last year, Maclin broke out with 70 receptions for 964 yards and 10 touchdowns. Already one of the best deep threats in the league, Maclin will continue to prove that he is a superior receiver to teammate DeSean Jackson. Maclin is a better route-runner with more reliable hands. Michael Vick will continue to transcend the league with other-worldly speed, agility and arm strength to go along with his improving pocket awareness, vision and accuracy. His continued dominance as a passer will allow Maclin to further exploit defenses all over the field. Since Steve Smith is expected to miss a few games to begin the season, Maclin will serve as the No. 1 security blanket for Vick. After being annihilated last year by Dunta Robinson, don’t expect Jackson to be going over the middle anytime soon. This will leave Maclin and tight end Brent Celek to do the dirty work. We often see receivers enjoy breakout seasons in their third year. Maclin’s accelerated development last season may scare away owners, but this prolific offense is only improving. Do not be afraid to draft Maclin in the fourth or even third rounds of your league. Top 20 2011 Fantasy Wide Receivers1. Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions2. Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals3.
