And that is what we are here to do we are here to set standards.”Mr Ayesu said “what I would promise Sierra Leoneans is that when it comes to us we are very solid business people, we are not just now coming to make money, at least we are comfortable to an extent, but as business people you never get tired of looking for business opportunities or looking for emerging markets and establishing your brands there, so that is why we are here.”He maintained that Sierra Leoneans “should know that they are not working with some novices, they are not working with some amateurs in the industry, we are business people and with our experience we would be able to share with corporate Sierra Leone and the general public.”One beauty with us he explained is that “when we come into your company because we are also business people, we do not just take your brief or take your request for proposal and just answer it; sometimes we analyse it, taking your business into consideration and we advice and that is free consultation that we do for clients.”Questioned about what is Charterhouse, the COO said “Charterhouse is a total marketing communications company, we are a TV production company we produce TV programs, we produce content we are actually the biggest content providers in Ghana for the networks. We even produce content for DSTV sometimes and then also when it comes to events we have the biggest event company in West Africa now. We organize international and local, we organize corporate and public events. With the public events we have events like the Ghana music awards which for the past 12 years has been the biggest music awards show in West Africa.”Mr Ayesu further disclosed that they also do “experiential marketing, for Corporate Ghana and also for Sierra Leone and Liberia for public events. We have reality shows like you have in America – The Idol, we have ‘Stars of the future’ that produces fantastic artistes almost every year; we have been running that for about 5 years now; we have the Miss Malaika pageant which we also organize; we have ‘The Challenge’ which is actually a reality show for tertiary students or graduates – the Challenge is being sponsored in partnership with the British Council which actually seeks to select one of the best student or best brains in the country and we send them over to the UK to further their education and come back and they will be automatically employed by one of the top corporate or multi nationals in Ghana.”“We also have an advertising agency, we build brands one of the biggest local brands in Ghana was built by us it is called UT it used to be a non bank financial institution it is now a bank – UT Bank. We also handle Zenith bank in Ghana, Western Union brand across these three countries Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone, we have been handling Western Union for the past ten years we built that brand and a host of other companies we also do below the line activities for corporate Ghana; we work with most of the networks in Ghana, we do events and promotions for them, we work with MTN which is the biggest network in Ghana; we work with vodaphone which used to be One touch, or Ghanatelecom which has now been acquired through majority shares by Vodaphone, (and) as I speak to you Vodaphone has taken over the sponsorship of Ghana musical awards after almost 12 years of MTN’s hold on it. As much as we are entertaining the community we are also business people.”Charterhouse plans to hold a second night of 1001 laughs in November along with a host of other entertainment events.
