With the No. 9 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Bobcats selected UConn guard Kemba Walker.
Walker is well-known to those who follow college basketball even loosely. He led the UConn Huskies to the 2011 NCAA Championship, scoring by the truckload on the way. He played a scoring guard role in college, but has repeatedly defended his record and potential as point guard through the draft workout season.
His ability to distribute the ball and facilitate an offense will be the second-biggest question he faces in the pros, however, as his defense leaves some worry. Walker is quicksilver in sneakers, but that doesn’t always translate to defensive agility, and his limited size and frame might be as much a hindrance on defense as it is an asset on offense.
